Design thinking is one of the tools I find increasingly useful in my work. It would be a great process to use as part of the redesign of education in Christchurch. If you’re interested in exploring this journey and being part of a design process, I think that the first step is to watch David Kelley taking about design and how it can build creative confidence.
He describes a process of guided mastery developed by Albert Bandura – a process which helps us move forward towards feeling that we can make change. It presupposes that we all have the ability to be creative.
Human centred design is very much a process of building creative confidence. Check out more information about the design process from the d.school at Stanford.
